Flu Vaccinations
We anticipate that our flu clinics will begin in mid September and continue throughout the months to follow. We will offer both nasal spray and injectable vaccine. Your child's physician will determine which type of vaccine is most appropriate. These clinics will focus on high-risk children. Children will be scheduled for these clinics that have underlying health problems such as asthma, heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease and metabolic diseases such as diabetes and blood disorders. Due to the sporadic delivery of flu vaccine, we cannot guarantee the timing of these clinics.
Children who are 6 months and older and are scheduled for well visits during the flu season will receive flu vaccine during their visit when the supply is there to accommodate them. If we do not have adequate supply available at the time of your child's appointment, other arrangements will be made for your child to receive flu vaccine.
If your child does not fall into one of these two categories we will attempt to vaccinate your child after all of the high risk children have been vaccinated. You are welcome to check back at the end of October or early November to see when we will be able to vaccinate your child.
Our goal is to offer flu vaccine to all children who desire it. Another resource available to you for obtaining flu vaccine is Central District Health Department. They may be reached at 327-7450.

Adolescent Immunizations
As kids get older, protection provided by some childhood vaccines can begin to wear off. Kids can also develop risks for more diseases as they get older. Help your child transition into adolescence in a healthy way by staying up-to-date on pre-teen vaccines. It is recommended that all 11 and 12 year olds get the Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines. 11 and 12 year old girls should also get the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
